Title:             Special Education Teacher

Location:      Ipswich High School 

Reports To:  Principal

FTE:             1.0 – 10 Month 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW 

 

Ipswich High School is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Special Education Co-Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for an individual who can foster an innovative, collaborative, and inclusive co-teaching environment while effectively addressing diverse student needs.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• DESE teaching license in moderate special needs (secondary level)  and content area
• Knowledge of a wide range of disabilities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Understanding and experience in Math (Algebra and Geometry), Biology, and/or History content areas
• Experience implementing all parts of the IEP and Transition Plan process
• Prior experience in completing academic achievement testing

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide co-teaching partnerships in general education classes, adapting and modifying curriculum materials and instructional approaches to serve as a resource for diverse learners
• Work collaboratively with individual student teams
• Provide Case Manager services, including development, implementation, and monitoring of IEP goals and objectives; liaison with general education teachers; communication with home; and attending Team meetings
• Attend IEP and other meetings for assigned students and present up-to-date information on progress toward goals and objectives
• Conduct and present educational testing results, using this information to review and revise current IEP goals and objectives
• Collect and manage data pertaining to various student goals and objectives for progress monitoring
• Ensure that all related services and class accommodations are being implemented in the appropriate settings
• Teach small group Special Education courses for students who require remedial and/or modified core content curriculum
• Participate in professional development and other meetings with the Special Education department and school-wide faculty
